Yet another journal entry...
"Today was the most amazing day! We spend 4 hours driving around the reserve when we came across a family of baboons, they were making an unbelievable noise. I wondered what was going on when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw a cheetah run and pounce on a baboon. It all happened in the blink of an eye, there was a cloud of dust and a scattering of animals. The baboon got away in the end. As we were turning to go a tour bus pulled up along side us and we told the guide what had happened. He said that he had been working there for 8 years in the hope of seeing what we just saw. Sadly he missed it by about a minute - he was so disappointed."

- My name is Candice and I am from Durban, South Africa. Although I now live in Melbourne, I still have deep ties with South Africa. I have been sewing and designing since I was a child. My mother is an amazing designer and was my inspiration throughout my life. I studied fashion design when I finished school but beading has always been my first love. My interest in beadwork stems from my love for traditional African beadwork, beads were used to tell stories and profess ones love for another. I have always been fascinated by the symbolism and stories behind each piece.
